iTunes libraries won't open in Apple Musi…

Can't load iTunes Library from Mojave into Music app in Monterey I have my 370gb iTunes Library on an external hard drive which was working fine with iTunes in Mojave. I reluctantly upgraded my iMac to Monterey and am unable to get the iTunes library to load in the Music app. I can only see the music I purchased with iTunes. I tried loading the library by opening the Music app while holding down Option and Shift. When prompted to choose a library to load I navigated to my external hard drive and chose the .itl file. From there the Music app just continues to say "loading..." but never actually loads anything. I left the computer on for more than 24 hours (disabled sleep) and still nothing happened. When prompted where to save the new library (Music Library.musiclibrary) I've tried saving on the external hard drive and also on the iMac hard drive. Both have yielded the same results (i.e. perpetual "loading..."). I'm looking to not only have my music loaded but my playlists too. Thank you in advance for any help.

convert iTunes to Music app not working as expected When I click the iTunes Library.itl file to launch Music only ten of my hundreds of albums show up in Music. I have confirmed all the music is present. When I launch Music holding Option iTunes Library.itl does not appear I have copied my whole music library to my new M2 MacBook Pro running Ventura. When I launch Music holding the Option key the iTunes.itl file does not show up. In fact none of the files in that folder show up. Here is what I can see in the finder: I have even tried clicking on the old iTunes Library.itl file and when Music launches only ten of my many hundreds of albums appears in Music app.

iTunes libraries will not open in Apple Music - It upgraded me from Mojave to Big Sur, skipping Catalina. And now, I cannot open any of my iTunes libraries! All the libraries are GRAY after it upgraded me from Mojave – automatically skipping Catalina – to Big Sur. And I tried right-clicking on an iTunes library ("iTunes Library.xml"), but again nada. I cannot open ANY of my iTunes libraries! They are all gray. They are on an external HDD, formatted to Mac OS Journaled. (At some point, Apple started reformatting people's system drives to a new type.) On one iTunes library folder I did the "Repair security permissions for iTunes for Mac" thing.† But still did not work, and still grayed out. I googled for an answer, but the only one I found that seemed related (that I tried) didn't work: The libraries are grayed out. This was all I found, so far, which I already knew (holding the Option key when selecting Apple Music, just as I had done with Apple iTunes to switch libraries): "Switch libraries with the Apple Music app in macOS If you have multiple iTunes libraries, learn how to switch between them in the Apple Music app in macOS Catalina or later.
