Oticon Hearing AIDS and Apple Watch

Is there a workaround so my husband can still get notifications into his hearing aids. Now that he has an Apple Watch he doesn’t get them. Thinking I may need to return this watch. With our aging population and all the safety features why would Apple do this??

I wear Oticon More and wear an Apple Watch Ultra and under Settings, Accessibility, Hearing Devices you have 3 options that you can turn on, Play Ringtones, Play System Sounds and Audio Routing which should bring the Notifications to his hearing aids. There are also settings in the Watch app for Notifications. What settings does he have on the iPhone and the Apple Watch?
