I always get the following message when I am trying to back up using external hard disc
The message appears as soon as the external disc is connected
: "/boot/x86_64SURamDisk.dmg",
what do I have to do to be able to perform a 'backup?

I have same error. Occurs with freshly formatted external APFS drive. The Current device is Apple MacBook with M1 pro chip. Has recently migrated from an older intel mac using apples assistant. Issue not related to external drive. Please advise

I found that reformatting the drive, it was an external SSD drive to a very specific format with good quality cable did the trick - GUID partition map APFS case sensitive
