Comments will not scroll

I have an iPhone XS Max, iOS 16.1.1. The iOS was updated a few days ago and my problem began after the update.

When I type in a chat box (new or in response) I can only view the first line or two so I continue to type and then post and choose edit to bring up that thread. If I edit or add/change the verbiage the same thing occurs. I have to post then edit again in order to see the entire thread. It occurs over multiple software. It’s not relegated to just one app. It happens on NextDoor, Teams or any interactive chats.

Can you tell me how I can scroll up and down in a conversational bubble?
