Page jumping to previous highlight on Preview

Hi, I thought this bug had been fixed as I have not encountered this in some time.

This has been mentioned in a couple of threads but does not look like a solution or fix has been found.

The issue occurs when using the highlight feature on Preview on a PDF document. When a highlight is made, the document then jumps up immediately to the last highlight. This then requires scrolling back down to the highlight just made, short gaps are tolerable, but quite frustrating if there are numerous pages in between highlights.

Hopefully an update fixes this in the near future, also some newer features in the subsequent updates would be handy as well. Acrobat has taken the lead with some notable features and updates in the last 12 months or so.

Not fair to compare as I am running Ventura 13.1 and the Preview application works as expected when Highlighting Text in PDFs

Perhaps the user profile MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2 maybe a source of this issue ?

The current version of Big Sur , as of this writing, is now version 11.7.2, if not already installed ?
