My family is going to get rid of our Wi-Fi because of my dad. Is there a way to add 5g network to an iPad Air. I didn’t buy it when I originally got my iPad but can I buy it for my Device or did I miss my chance?

It is not possible to change or modify the internal hardware components of an iPad.Â
Whilst a WiFi Only iPad cannot be transformed into a WiFi+Cellular model, you can use the hotspot feature of a mobile phone - or a Cellular Broadband Router (often known as a MiFi Router) - to access Cellular networks.

Cellular data access hardware cannot be retrofit. Closest option now is a MiFi or JetPack device from a carrier, which is effectively a Wi-Fi router with cellular data as its internet connection, or a hotspot from an iPhone. MiFi and JetPack are Wi-Fi and can be used for updates, while Hotspot cannot.
