Hi Felixkkh,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue with volume that is confined to WhatsApp specifically. Is that right? Try testing other apps with audio to make sure this is isolated.

If the issue only occurs in WhatsApp, we'd recommend addressing the app with the following steps from If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open.

1 Close and reopen the app
Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

2 Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

3 Check for updates
To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

4 Delete the app, then redownload it
Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app.

If the same occurs, the app developer may have further suggestions. If you need help finding their contact information, the guidance in How to contact an app developer can help.

Kind regards.

Hey guys,

I have exactly the same problem: increasing volume in whatsapp voicemails while holding to the ear is impossible. I have been to the Apple store in Berlin today. The employee was really very friendly and tried his best, but the problem could not be solved. It turned out that Apple knows about the problem which can be found on all iPhone 13 devices. My old iPhone 6s is able to increase / decrease the volume while listening to whatsapp voicemails on ear. It is a shame that a 1600€ device is not able to do the same... :(
