my early model apple tv will not discover any bluetooth devices? any ideas

I have an early model apple tv model A1469 and it will not discover any blue tooth devices. any suggestions.

That is a 3rd gen, which can only pair with a BT keyboard. So if you are attempting to use any other device it will not work.

Apple TV bluetooth to Vizio Soundbar HELP Apple TV (3rd gen) Bluetooth connection is Not showing my Vizio Soundbar (Model: V20xt-K6) I'm able to connect other devices and iphone but Apple TV doesn't recognize my soundbar. WHY? I've tried hard restarting my Apple TV, unplug and plug back in, disconnecting all other Bluetooth options so it could easily pick up the soundbar but still nothing.

Apple TV says continue on apple device, but won’t send confirmation. Well, this question has been asked before, but since noone replied (what does Apple employees do these days?), I just reply myself in this new tread. The answer is that you have to switch on Bluetooth on your device (Iphone or alike). For some reason, Apple decided that your Apple-TV needs to talk directly to your device through bluetooth. Being logged on to the same Apple ID account on both devices is probably important, but for some reason its not enough. It is also not well documented that this needs to be done since the Iphone/pod/pad won't ask you anything if Bluetooth is switched off.

Thanks for your response. That is helpful and confirms that I need to upgrade my Apple TV if I want to introduce a bluetooth speaker system.
