Apple Maps Switches Voices

Was on the road a bit this weekend and Apple Maps voice kept changing with their other instruction. It would go from my selected Siri voice (American-Voice 1) to the original Siri voice from its initial introduction. Very annoying since the original Siri voice doesn't come through at the same volume level and is super difficult to hear/understand.

No idea why this is happening or how to change it. Anyone?
