Safari confuses my current location

Why does Safari think that I am in Virginia when I live in NJ. If I allow it to access my current location it thinks I'm in VA. Maps knows I'm in NJ by not Safari. I've enabled location in preferences. Help?

Geolocation trouble on apple map, weather app and Safari Hi all! No found any settings in Apple Map regarding geolocation, again all OS geolocation services are switched on, restored (no impact) I have no ideas any more. Cannot provide Location access to applications I have been trying to use real time location for google maps through Safari and it just gives a warning that permission for location has not been given. Under the System Settings of Mac, I can enable the location but there is no options to add the safari browser for location nor is it appearing under the list with location disabled. I can only see the 'System Services' with access to location. I have another application too that requires location and it is the same issue - cannot see it under the location settings. The help sections everywhere just states that I should give the application access through the settings, but the application does not even appear in the list under the location settings. How do I give location access to applications then?

A Mac has no built-in geolocation. The location is that of the IP address of your wireless access point or router, whose location has been previously determined to be in Virginia.
