Live Photo editing not working

i can’t get the slider to move when trying to change a still for a live photo. This is a new problem and software is completely up to date, I’ve restarted, etc. I can watch a photo live but the slider (on all) is frozen. Please help.

IOS 17 Live Photo (New Key Photo Bug) While attempting to scroll through the various other “Make Key” Photos available from within the Live Photo Icon* [after choosing the option to edit a picture] the picture will freeze and stop updating to show any of the other available Live Photos from within the scrollable selections. I normally leave 10sec Live Photo turned on for ALL capable pictures I take so I’m uncertain if this is a factor. Normally to view the other available pictures from Live Photo you could slide left and right from the current Key Photo and it would make the on screen photo automatically reflect the different “mini-scenes” contained within the scrollable section. It was very similar to a streamlined movie editor for a 10-second video short filmed in a low frame rate. HOWEVER With the NEW iOS 17 while traveling left to right the picture would freeze and stop. What’s worse is that I can’t seem to find a set of universal replicable conditions to cause the error to pop up. At first I thought it was travel speed or being too quick when attempting to preview the available key photos before the current key photo finishes loading all its definition after entering the Live Photo Screen for editing. While this certainly did appear to help it didn’t completely fix things, at the most unpredictable times it would continue to freeze up. When this occurred if you clicked on any of the other icons next to the Live Photo one in the edit screen, then returned back to editing the Key Live Photo would reset the error for a short while. *(You must have already had the Live Photo option turned on when the photo was taken or all of this will be irrelevant) **(Depending which key moment was defaulted the starting moment might not be dead center of the 10sec it could be anywhere in between but I hope my point came across)

Profile photo does not keep editing In profile, editing photo with “move and scale” does not get saved. The photo gets reset back to original scale in 3 seconds after clicking “done”

Photos Slideshow I have made quite a long slideshow with Photos . It includes still and video and has text captions and music When I run the slideshow I get times when there photos are very blurred or there is no picture at all and sometimes I just get a bright Green screen Has anyone any idea what is the problem?

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If your Photos app is freezing when you try to change the Key Photo on Live Photos, let's try these steps.

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support

The main thing we want to do is as follows:

Close the app - Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
Force restart your iPhone - Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
Test a Live Photo to see if you can set the Key Photo again
