Low heart rate ?

Not getting any alerts on my watch when the heart rate drops in the 40's. Is my notifications not working is the reading not acute ?

Did you follow the steps in the'High and low heart rate notifications' section of:

Heart health notifications on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

and have the notifications enabled according. to:

Notifications on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
