Thunderbolt 3 to 2 Adapter Not Working As Bi-directional

Why am I unable to mount a Thunderbolt 3 external HD (SanDisk G-RAID 2) to a Mac mini (late 2014) with this adapter and appropriate cables?

Mac mini, macOS 12.6

OK, nevermind. I just tried again and pushed the connection into the back of the mini more firmly. That did the trick. Do I get credit for solving my own issue?
