buying an iPhone, trade in (underage)

Hello, so I am 14 years old and in July next year I'll be going to Orlando with my school and I'd like to buy an iPhone/do a trade in but I don't know if I am allowed to do that (cause im a minor). My mom will also write a letter allowing me to buy it does that help? Will I need to ask one of my teachers to buy it for me, or can I buy it myself?

ps: I am not from the United States, does that have an effect on me buying an iPhone there?

I have found a few sources saying that you have to be 18 years old (or the legal age in your country) to trade-in/buy an iPhone. Though, this probably won't matter since Apple does not verify a buyer's age at check out. As long as you or a family member has a valid credit or debit card I don't see a problem. Though you may want to wait until you get in America to purchase the phone because, as stated by frazzm737: "The warranty is good only in the country of purchase, except the European Union where the warranty is in effect in all EU countries". You would also have to figure out which cell phone carrier to use, you can choose this option at check out or buy an unlocked phone (which is in my option the best option since you are not locked to one carrier). Hope this helps!

This is a user forum and I see you are not getting any answers. I suggest that you contact Apple directly by clicking on Support in the black stripe at the top of any forum page or at the bottom left hand corner of every page. One thing to consider is that it is best to buy the phone in the country where it will be used. The warranty is good only in the country of purchase, except the European Union where the warranty is in effect in all EU countries.
