Stuck on previous family sharing iCloud

I recently left a family sharing to join a new one. But I am still able to join the previous family iCloud instead of the new one and now I can't leave the family sharing.

We're a bit confused as to what you're explaining to us, but we understand that you recently left one Family Sharing group, and are trying to join another one. Let's confirm the following to help us better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:


  1. Are these the steps you've taken to Leave Family Sharing? The link not only includes the steps, but also the requirements for leaving a Family Sharing group.
  2. If those are the steps you've taken, and you've already confirmed you've left the Family Sharing group you were previously a member of, what exactly occurs when you try joining the new one? The more details you provide, the better we'll understand the issue.
  3. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone
  4. We see you have an iOS device, but if you're using a compatible model, the latest version would be iOS 16.1.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
