Automatic punctuation in Messages

How can I stop Messages dictation from automatically punctuating when I pause?

How do I avoid slangs in dictation on iOS and macOS? "Want to" and "going to" end up as "wanna" and "gunna" or whatever, and I sometimes forget to manually correct this and then feel like a moron when sending a text, etc. Apparently no settings to prevent this and using a text shortcut doesn't seem to work either per this question: Dictation and text replacement - Apple Community Any other hacks to prevent dictation from doing this? since last update dictation adds unnecessary punctuation iPhone8 Since the last update using dictation in text or email dictation adds commas like crazy where I did not dictate a comma or pause while speaking adds question marks without me dictating "question mark" to any change in tone just taking a lot of liberties with punctuation is there a new setting or feature for that? where do I find it to adjust it? I'd prefer punctuation on command thank you

Will Apple ever fix the random punctuation in dictation issue? Since At least iOS 16, apple dictation adds random punctuation, such as commas, capitalization in the middle of a sentence, and other annoying punctuation. I constantly have to correct AutoCorrect. What the heck is going on? This issue is at least two years old and Apple doesn’t do anything to fix it.

Here's how to turn off Auto-Punctuation:

Dictate text on iPhone - Apple Support

As you speak to insert text, iPhone automatically inserts punctuation for you.

Note: You can turn off automatic punctuation by going to Settings > General > Keyboard, then turning off Auto-Punctuation.
