My Superdrive worked fine on my 2014 iMac but now trying to use it with my MacBook Pro M1 or my MacMini M1, it won't even recognize it. I've connected directly to my MacMini with the USB connector. I've also tried to connect it with the USB-C to Digital AV Adapter using the USB port on it. Nothing I do works.
Is there a disk in the drive? Several posts recently have reported that nothing showed up until there was a disk in the drive.

Odd...it doesn't show up in devices, but it is connected and working.
That's exactly right. I kept waiting for it to show up on my device list. Then I put a disk in, and everything came up.
