Updated to ventura and my printer is not connecting (bonjour)

I recently updated to Ventura but I realize that my printer (Brother MFC-J615W) that worked perfectly under Bonjour before, now it shows on the Printer pannel but it does not connect to print or to use the scanner, it says that there is no communication in between... but the system shows that it is there...

Anybody may know something about it ?

Thank you in advance

Hey Pelao03,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We'd recommend starting with the guidance from Solve printing problems on Mac - Apple Support which will likely help further. Since this started after a macOS update, it may be particularly important to check for accompanying printer firmware updates. Below guidance is from the article we shared above.

"Make sure you have the latest software

Make sure you have the correct version of your printer’s software (also called its printer driver). If you’re using a printer that another user is sharing, make sure you’re both using the same version of the printer software.

  1. On your Mac, to find out which version of printer software you’re using, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Printers & Scanners  in the sidebar.
  2. Click the printer in the Printers list on the right, click Options & Supplies, then check the Driver version.

Contact with the printer manufacturer to see if you have the latest driver version.

If you’re using a network printer or a printer connected to your Mac, make sure you have the latest version of the software for the printer. If you still have problems, try a different version of printer software.

If you’re using an AirPrint-enabled printer, check with your printer’s manufacturer to see if any updates are available for your printer model."

It might also be helpful to check out Reset the printing system on your Mac to solve a problem - Apple Support as a reset may be needed.

Lastly, along the same lines as the update mentioned above, there may be a printer driver that you need for this printer. If so, you'll find that from the manufacturer. We did a quick search and found the following page: Brother Drivers: Info & Downloads.

Best of luck.

macOS only includes native support for AirPrint printers and multifunction devices. There are over 500 AirPrint-enabled Brother printers, but the MFC-J615W is not one of them.

About AirPrint - Apple Support

According to Brother's Support website below, "We don't have plans to release official drivers or software for your model on macOS 13."

That is not surprising since Brother was one of the first printer manufacturers to implement the AirPrint technology Apple introduced over a decade ago.
