My wife’s contacts and headings showing up on my iPhone

How do I restore my phone so that only my information and contacts are presented?

Hi there leonardfrommonroe,

Based on your description of the issues you're experiencing with seeing your wife's contacts and information on your iPhone, it sounds like you may be sharing an Apple ID.

Apple recommends that you do not share your Apple ID. Instead, set up Family Sharing so that each person uses their own Apple ID. This way, your family can share purchases, subscriptions, and more without sharing personal information like email, text messages, or passwords.
If you share your Apple ID with a family member, certain services will treat you as the same person.

With that said, you'll want to be sure you're signed in with your Apple ID in Settings instead of your wife's Apple ID. Learn how to sign out here: Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac - Apple Support

If you don't have an Apple ID of your own, you can create one using the steps here: How to create a new Apple ID - Apple Support

Take care.

Thank you for replying leonardfrommonroe,

From what you have explained, you are both using different Apple ID accounts and do not have Family Sharing enabled.

An additional setting to check would be the accounts that you have enabled with your Contacts app.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap Accounts.

From here, check to confirm that only your accounts are enabled. Other apps can use your contact information with autofill as well.

Please reply back if you need more help!

I appreciate the response to my dilemma. My wife and I have totally different ID’s. Family sharing is not turned on. That is what is so puzzling to me. Within certain forms where the auto fill takes place, my wife’s email pops up. In Contacts heading, my wife’s information is there instead of mine. My contacts list has doubled in size. I now have mine and her contacts as well. HELP!!
