Why did several lines turn invisible in Pages?

Four lines of text have disappeared from my Pages document, but the wordcount says they're still there, and if I copy and paste the whole section, the missing lines show up.

(This is a problem, because it's a book I recently got published. The ebook version turned out fine, but the paperback has this Unprofessional Moment, thanks to what appears to be a bizarre glitch.)

Has anyone run into this before? I don't know how to fix it, or how to make sure it doesn't happen again elsewhere. There may be another spot in this same book.

I have tried to reproduce this with other text content breaking across a page boundary and haven't yet. You might try the Format panel > More tab > ☑︎ Prevent widow & orphan lines and Following Paragraph Style [ Same ].

Pages v12.2.1 and Ventura 13.0.1. M1 mini.

Thank you! Toggling the widow & orphan lines option on and off made the invisible text show up. So did changing the font colors, then changing them back. I have no idea what kind of mirror dimension those words disappeared into, but they're back now.

I guess I'll just have to mess with those setting every time I send out a professional document?? This is a weird glitch.
