I have done what Apple support said to do- go to settings- mail-threading options- move blocked emails to trash.
yet I still get emails from blocked senders!
I’m so tired of doing exactly what support options tell you to do and then not having it work!

if you read my post I clearly said that I followed the support instructions and it doesn’t work! Yes I blocked the contact correctly, yes I selected put in trash on the mail settings etc. and I still get the emails from the blocked contact! When I go to the contact info at that point, it asks if I want to UNBLOCK CONTACT which of course I don’t- but it proves that I have selected it to be blocked!

Make sure you're taking the steps below to block the sender's email:
From the Mail app, open the email that has the contact that you want to block, then tap the contact at the top. Tap Block this Contact.
Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If the email is still being received after being blocked, double check if there are multiple email addresses for the sender that might not be blocked. Should this continue, Contact Apple Support for next steps.
