I’ve got an ipad pro with ipados 16.1.1.
In the news app, I’m able to save stories when reading them, but no way to navigate back to them: the saved stories button isn’t anywhere in the app. Does anyone know how?

So yeah, tapping Edit doesn’t reveal Saved Stories, so that didn’t work. Force closing the News app and restarting the iPad also didn’t fix this.
I think 16.1.2 is out now, but I’m not holding my breath it will fix this. 😀
I tried the links you provided for Apple Support, but it seems that built-in apps like News aren’t given a category for reporting.
I gotta say, this just looks like a plain old bug in the software. I have also noticed that tapping Apple News doesn’t take me back to the “homepage” if I have tapped into a particular channel. That also seems like a bug in the navigation/side panel of the app.

Thanks for the information, ryane77. I have no problems saving stories, just viewing them. Below is a screenshot of what I see, and the Saved Stories appears to be missing:

Thanks for the picture. Yes, we see that. It should be under the Apple News area, but yours does not have an arrow like the other sections, Special Coverage for example.
Try tapping Edit, see if you have options to add it back. it is titled Saved Stories.
IF not, force close the News app: Quit and reopen an app on iPad - Apple Support
Then, restart your iPad: Turn iPad on or off - Apple Support
Once it comes back on, open News, and see if it's showing there again. If not, ensure you are updated: Update iPadOS - Apple Support

Save a story
When reading a story, tapto save it.
To read a saved story, tap Saved Stories in the sidebar, then tap the story. To delete a saved story, touch and hold the story, then tap Unsave Story.
