Setting up watch with new iPhone

The support page for transferring to new phone doesn’t cover Apple watch very well, if you want to transfer your watch to a new iPhone. In that case, Quick Start handles it, and you don’t have to completely erase your watch?

Do you have an actual question here? The related article link at the top of this page, if that is what you are referring to isn't about transferring your watch to a new iPhone. This article is --> How to pair your Apple Watch with a new iPhone – Apple Support (UK)

The question was to confirm my experience was correct, that the page doesn’t apply properly

to Quick Start and is therefore confusing. Thanks for pointing out the other page, but both pages

don’t reflect what happens with Quick Start. On the page you mentioned, I believe steps 4 and 5 don’t appear

from Quick Start which is the official way Apple recommends setting up new iPhones now. I think

the 2 pages list all the possible options for old and new phones and iOS, but maybe another page

is needed that’s specific to Quick Start, which automatically transfers your watch without erasing it.
