Hello Steve-D, I found a way to manage your payments while I was figuring out why the 16.1 OS direct me to Apple Music when I pressed ' Payment & Shipping ' which I haven't got the answer, but so far, it maybe is what you have said. Okay, now, let's continue. Go to Settings > Your Account > Media&Purchase (The App Store Icon) then there will be 3 options popup then you press 'View Account' and then look for the 'Manage Payments'. Wish you all the best.

Not a helpful response. This is a clear coding error in both iPad OS and iOS current 16.1.* which invokes music before giving access to payment & shipping. When leaving payment and shipping the user is dropped off in music and not returned to settings. If the user deletes music and attempts payment & shipping the user is prompted to reinstall music and should the user decline the user is barred from further progress to payment & shipping. If the user does try to delete music it is not deleted but put into limbo and will consume 2Gb in local resources even though user’s own music library is empty. Regrettably the number of regression errors like this increases with every Apple software release. The era of ”it just works” has regrettably passed, and that just not acceptable from a company with Apple’s resources.

Agree wholeheartedly. Unfortunately Apple has users over a barrel, and they know we have little in the way of alternatives. We all sensed this in the beginning, and now our fears are being realized.

my suggestion: be very circumspect with any financial information, automatic payments, trial subscriptions, etc. Keep it as minimal as possible, and delete/remove anything not used.

Apple can be hacked as easily as the rest, do not trust their security measures any further than you can comprehend them… /o:
