Keyboard shortcut to insert text box

There isn't a keyboard shortcut for text box.

However you can create one, instructions are here:

I suggest that you familiarize yourself with Keynote's reserved keyboard shortcuts. Then, your choice of a unique shortcut will not conflict with the application.
