I’ve had this problem since the latest system update with Stage Manager. I like using Stage Manager, even though it shrinks app screens. In iMessage, the text box to type my message appears over the top of a message I received. When I tap Return to send the message, nothing happens.
What can I do to solve this problem?

Collapsing the keyboard works sometimes, but not always. Resizing the screen made the arrow active again one time. It’s just fiddley and frustrating since there are always adjustments to make to get it to work.
so are you saying that pressing return on the on screen keyboard will send a message? If this is the case I wonder why that is not an option for sending messages with an iPhone? So how do you create a new line if return sends a message?

Are you using the keyboard on screen or an external keyboard?

Ah. That’s your problem. The only way to send a message without external keyboard is by clicking the blue send button. Hope this helps!
I just tested it and the error only happens when I am in Stage Manager. The up arrow at the end of the text box disappears, which is why I was trying to hit Return to send the message.
Did you try typing something? It won’t show up until you type something.
It does show up, but isn’t active. If I collapse the keyboard, it becomes active. At least that’s a work around.
Hmm. Besides that Im not sure. Maybe try a restart?
I have tried restarting. It didn’t affect it.
Return does NOT send a message. I was trying to use return because the arrow usually used to send a message wasn’t on the screen. After resizing the window, the arrow came back.
