Screentime for Kids turning off

We have screentime limits enabled for each of my 3 kids. It's generally worked ok in the past, but something changed and now we have issues. Some app limits disappear, sometimes all app limits disappear. Downtime sometimes is not enabled, not scheduled. There doesn't seem to be any detectable pattern. Sometimes it will be for only 1 kid, sometimes 2 or 3. Sometimes it will be a single app limit, sometimes more than one, sometimes all.

I did suspect that they kids discovered the PIN, but I have changed that multiple times, yet the issue keeps happening. I've updated all devices to latest software. I am out of ideas.

Is anyone else having this, or a similar issue? Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

Hi ando1brett,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We recommend to verify that "Block at Downtime" or "Block at End of Limit" is enabled. This is to ensure that the feature with Screen Time for App Limit or Downtime is turned on. Here's how:

  • App Limits > [Limit Name] > “Block at End of Limit” (each limit has its own block setting)

  • Settings > Screen Time > Downtime > "Block at Downtime"

If these features are turned on but you continue to experience the same behavior, you'll want to contact Apple Support. They can review this further. You can contact them by using this link here: Apple Support

Best regards.

Thank you. I can confirm that both "Block at End of Limit" and "Block at Downtime" were enabled.

I reset my PIN again two days ago, verified that everything was turned on as I wanted it, and took extra steps so they wouldn't see me enter the PIN. Then I get home tonight, and none of the 3 kids have Downtime scheduled, nor do any of them have any App Limits. Also, I discovered that Content & Privacy Restrictions are disabled.

I am really at a loss here and have no idea how these settings keep changing. I am fairly confident that the kids do not know the PIN and that they should not able able to disable these limits.

Thanks in advance.
