Apps stops downloading in the background

We'd love to help out! So, the first thing that comes to mind when we read the symptoms you're describing, is Low Power Mode. If you have Low Power Mode enabled, that is likely the cause if the issues you're describing. Low Power Mode affects the some features to conserve battery life.

"Low Power Mode reduces or affects these features:

• 5G (except for video streaming) on iPhone 12 models1
• Auto-Lock (defaults to 30 seconds)
• Display brightness
• Display refresh rate (limited up to 60 Hz) on iPhone and iPad models with ProMotion display2
• Some visual effects
• iCloud Photos (temporarily paused)
• Automatic downloads
• Email fetch
• Background app refresh

On iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, Low Power Mode disables 5G (except in some cases like video streaming and large downloads) and also disables 5G Standalone (where available)."

To disable Low Power Mode, follow the below steps.

1. Go to Settings
2. Control Center
3. Customize Controls, then select Low Power Mode if it is enabled to turn it off.
