There is no way to change scroll direction of mouse and trackpad independently?

In System Settings, if I change the scroll direction of the mouse, it changes that of the trackpad and vice versa. In other words, although there are separate settings for scroll direction on both panels, but they are linked.

Seems like a bug, but I suspect Apple did this because they didn't want people to be confused when switching between mouse and trackpad in case the settings were different.

However it's a real problem for me, because when I use my Wacom tablet I need to have scroll direction reversed. I switch between the tablet and the trackpad constantly while using my Mac. Any suggestions on how to deal with this?

FWIW, there is free app which can change the scroll direction independently. Whether it works for the Wacom tablet I can't say.

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities disconnekt,

Currently, scroll direction is linked between both the mouse and trackpad settings in System Settings, meaning changing the direction of one automatically changes the direction of the other. There is no way to separate the two right now, but if you'd like to see that as an option in the future you can let the appropriate teams at Apple know here: Feedback - macOS - Apple

In the meantime, you can manually change the scroll direction when connecting your tablet versus trackpad.

Have a great day.
