I have two shared notes with someone. One of them has two face icons next to it, does that mean that the person I shared it with also shared it with someone else?
Is there any way to know if your note was shared by the person who you originally shared it with?

The icon that you're referring to generally means that the note is shared. If the settings show that correct people are sharing the note, then this is the correct setup.

It sounds like you see the two icons on the notes when you looking in the top level of the Shared folder. To ensure that sharing is correct,
at the top of the note. Share the note again.
If this continues, contact Apple Support to check into this further.

I don’t think you understand what I am saying.
Two of my shared notes (shared only with one person) has two face icons next to it at times. All of my other shared notes just have one face icon.
why are there two face icons at times?

Thank you for the response. I checked the shared settings and it is just shared with me and one other person. The double face icon is still happening just with one person. It’s really strange. I don’t understand what it means.

That's a great question! You're able to see who the note is currently being shared with by looking at the sharing settings:
Change sharing settings
• Manage a shared note: Tap, then tap Manage Shared Note.
• Manage a shared folder: Tap, then tap Manage Shared Folder.
• Remove people: Tap the collaborator you want to remove, then tap Remove Access.
• Change access and permission settings: To change the settings for all collaborators, tap Share Options. To change the settings for an individual collaborator, tap their name.
• Stop sharing: When you choose this option, the shared note or folder is deleted from the devices of the other participants.
