Can't update iMovie to version 10.3.5

Hey! I'm running OS 12.6.1 and iMovie 10.3.3. I've had an update pending (version 10.3.5) in the Apple Store for more than a month ... every time I try and get it to work nothing happens.

What's the magic here?

Appreciate your taking a minute and helping out.

Thank you.

Try this procedure and see if it works:

To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash and return it to the Applications folder.

Make sure that you have enough internal drive free space to handle the download.

To cover the bases, I assume that you didn't initially acquire iMovie with a different Apple I.D, or an I.D. from another country? And you have confirmed that you have sufficient internal disk space?

Another outside shot would be to open System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Privacy and give iMovie Full Disk Access. Then try to update.

All else failing, you might try contacting Apple Support and talking to the techs there. They have the capability of remotely accessing your Mac that we don't have here.

Rich:

Appreciate your response. I followed your instructions w/o success. The App Store recognized that I'd "deleted" the app as the update wasn't there. But, when I tried to download (clicked on the "cloud" button) nothing happened. I tried a general search of "iMovie" also and had the same result. iMovie has been moved back into the applications folder from the trash.

Thank you.
