Unflagged Emails still showing in Flagged Folder

On a mac. If you empty your trash, open your flagged email folder, drag the un-flagged email into the trash and then drag it back into your inbox, it will not show in the flagged folder any more!

Flagged folder in Mac Mail not working I have Mac mail set up with just my iCloud mail account. There's a "Flagged" folder that has been there for years, with subfolders for each flag colour. However, if I unflag emails, they don't disappear from that folder (despite restarting Mail or MacOS). When I log in at iCloud.com, I noticed this folder doesn't exist at all, and you can only add flags of one colour to emails. There's also no equivalent folder that shows flagged emails. Has this feature been deprecated, or is there a way to restore it to working order?

Flags in Mail I have a 2020 MacBook Air running macOS Monterey 12.5, on which I use the Mail app. I have recently archived some messages to "On My Mac" folders from a webmail based service that I accessed via the Mail app. Some of these messages were flagged. I have deleted all the flags from all the messages in all my email accounts, but the Mail app still shows 2 flagged messages in the "Flagged" folder at the top. When I open this folder, it is empty. I have tried Mailbox > Rebuild. There are no flagged emails on the webmail system. I have no idea how to get rid of this "2" notification next to the Flagged folder. Can anyone help?

Email disappears after moving to a folder One of the emails in my inbox disappeared when I moved it to a different folder. The move seemed to have executed normally, but as I watched it simply vanished from the folder to which it was moved. I look in trash, all the other folders and checked the server through a web browser: no email! I am using Apple mail as a client for ATT/Yahoo email. I do have rules set on both the server and in Apple mail, but none of them would have filter the specific email. Using OSX Ventura 13.5 on an iMac with plenty of disk space, memory, and cpu. What is going on? Thanks, John
