AirPods Pro 2 Audio Drift/Sync issues even on latest firmware version 5B58. Sounds like spatial audio is on when it isn’t.

I don’t know if this has already been discussed already but my AirPods Pro 2 are having weird sound issues. It sounds like I’m using spatial audio when I’m not and one side gets louder or sounds strange for a second before going back to normal. I’ve read that the latest firmware is supposed to fix this but it didn’t work for me. Do any of you guys have this issue with your AirPods Pro 2 or is it just me and I need to send it back to Apple?

My old AirPods Pro gen 1 didn’t have this issue.

Hey there jimmysofat6864,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. If you haven't already, try resetting your AirPods with the steps shown here: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Open the lid of your charging case.
4. With your AirPods in your ears and connected to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > Bluetooth, or Settings > [your AirPods], and tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods. If you don't see your AirPods in Settings > Bluetooth or in Settings > [your AirPods], just go to the next step.
5. Tap Forget This Device, and tap again to confirm.
6. With the lid open, press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*
7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Follow the steps on your device's screen.

If still experiencing issues after resetting your AirPods, do you by chance have another device you can test the issue with? This can help determine if we need to look into additional options for your AirPods, or troubleshoot the device the AirPods are connected with.

Keep us updated on the results.

Take care!
