My iPhone keeps going into SOS mode even after a reset

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that your iPhone 12 keeps going into SOS mode. We'd like to help.


To clarify, is your iPhone going into Emergency SOS as shown here? Use Emergency SOS on your iPhone - Apple Support


If so, changing your settings may help:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Emergency SOS.
  3. Turn Call with Hold or Call with 5 Presses on.

If you turn off Call with Hold or Call with 5 Presses, you can still use the Emergency SOS slider to make a call.


If Emergency SOS isn't being trigged but you see SOS in the status bar, this support article has a ton of troubleshooting and information for you:

If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
