Update for powerbeats pro doesn't work.

Update for powerbeats pro doesn't work. Get notifcation that update is present but somehow update is not working.


Since few months i get message that update is there, but update doesn't start.


Powerbeats fully charged and connected to powesupply. Using android and beats app. Also reinstalled the app on android didn't worked. Firmware 4A394

Hi Jeff,


My issue is the following. I receive a notification that there is an update available for the Powerbeats. This notification is given by the Beats app on my android device. When i click on this notification i'm redirected to the Beats app.


According update instructions given on internetpages.. it states that the beats app and the headphonecase should be open en that update will be performed automatically. You refer to the option to select to install. There is not such option in the beats app itself. The only thing (with regards to update) i see is the message on the device notification screen(which i already have clicked on). So in the Beats app there is no 'install'/ update button/option to select. This is also not described in the instructions.


So basically i expect (according instructions) that the update will be performed automatically as long as the device and case are near each other.. now for a long period i see the notifcation that the update is there,but simply nothing happens. That's all. No error messages given.


What i have done already:

I have resetted the headphones multiple times but this doesn't resolved the update issue. Als using most recent version of the Beats app on android. Also reinstalled it completely and that also didn't resolved.

To start, you'll want to add more specific detail to your post. When you say the update is "not working", what exactly is happening? Are you unable to select the option to install? Are you getting some sort of error message? If so, what's the error?


You'll also want to make sure you're using the Beats app for Android, and not the older Beats Updater app, which no longer works. The article that you reviewed prior to posting here has further information about this: About Beats Updater - Apple Support. You can try resetting the headphones if the update won't install with these steps: Reset your Beats earphones - Apple Support

If your  Beats app for Android keeps showing you have an update, but you've already updated and reinstalled the app, as well as reset your Beats, you may want to  Contact Apple Support or use this Get Support link for assistance as you've completed troubleshooting steps you can do on your end.


If you have another mobile device available, you can try to update your Beats there, however, if the app is not working as expected, contact the app developer which in this case is Apple.
