HomePod Setting up Voice Profile

Hi, I can't seem to get the HomePod to recognize more than one voice. Whoever turns on "recognize my voice" first will work, and any after will not. If my wife does hers first, it recognizes her but also says "I'm setting up a voice profile" and never seems to finish. Could hers be getting stuck for some reason getting her voice set up and that's why it won't recognize us both?

Hello syko159,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We've located this article that goes into detail about that:

If Siri doesn't recognise you

Siri may ask you who you are from time to time. You can respond with your name, or you can even start a request by saying "Hey Siri, this is [your name]" or "Hey Siri, who am I?" If Siri calls you the wrong name, say "No, this is [your name]". Siri will call you by the name that's set in your My Card. If you have the same name as someone else who you share your HomePod with, you can change the name in your My Card to a nickname.
If Siri doesn't recognise you after you've finished the setup process, try following these steps. After each step, see if Siri recognises you.
1-Reset Recognize My Voice: In the Home app, tap the More button , then tap Home Settings.Tap your name under People, turn off Recognise My Voice, then turn it back on again.Wait a few minutes before trying Siri again.
2- Restart the iPhone or iPad that you use with "Hey Siri."
3- Restart your HomePod mini or HomePod.
4- Set up "Hey Siri" again. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Siri & Search, then turn Listen for "Hey Siri" off then on, and follow onscreen instructions to teach Siri your voice.
5- On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Siri & Search, and make sure that it's set to the same language as your HomePod.
If you have two Apple IDs in your home that have "Hey Siri" set up with the same voice, you may need to turn off Recognise My Voice on one account.

Set up voice recognition on HomePod mini or HomePod

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.

syko159,

Having the latest software installed can help with overall performance and can correct unexpected behavior, so make sure your HomePod and iOS devices are updated: Apple security updates

If needed, this article has the steps for updating your HomePod: Update HomePod

1. Make sure that your device is updated to the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS
2. Open the Home app.
3. Tap or click the More button , then Home Settings  > Software Update.
4. If there's a new update, select Update. If there isn't a new update, you can select HomePod to turn on automatic updates and get the latest software automatically when it's available. Software Update also tells you if your HomePod is already up to date, and shows you the installed HomePod software.

A white spinning light appears on the top of HomePod while it's updating. The update might take some time. Make sure that your HomePod stays plugged in while it's updating.

Cheers.
