I have tried all the fixes on line, updating operating system, checking all the settings, including erasing my iPad and reinstalling all the apps and the search bar on message app disappeared within an hour. This is super annoying…is apple going to fix this???? Using message app is a key function and it doesn’t always work to restart the machine.
The Search dialogue is not intended to be permanently visible. This is not a fault.
If the Search dialogue is not visible in the Messages sidebar, simply touch the message list in the sidebar - and drag downwards to expose the Search dialog.
