iOS 16 hdmi and screen mirroring

Last night i updated my iPad Pro 5th gen to iOS 16 and the video player changed and now when i connect my hdmi to my tv the videos do not play in full screen any more. I even tried to screen mirror and play the videos and they still do not go full screen any more. When i use to connect the adapter up to iPad thru hdmi and play videos it would say content playing on tv. Now it plays the video on both my iPad and tv but the video size is reduced. I come to the conclusion it is the new video player with iOS 16. Can someone please help me

Multiple reports have been seen within ASC complaining of issues connecting an external monitor, via HDMI, subsequent to updating iPads to iPadOS16.1.


While the current issues are believed to be a bug, perhaps likely to he fixed soon, you might be well advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Get Support link at top-right of this page. Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You should also submit a bug report via Apple’s Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:

I have experienced this issue after updating a Mac Pro Tower to the latest IOS 13.01; along with an iPad Pro to 16.1.1


I spent a few hours looking into settings. This is the best google search I've encountered with someone experiencing a similar issue.


The advanced display settings seem to have vanished and been replaced with LARGER TEXT ore MORE SPACE.


I sure would like to have full use of this iPad Pro as a Sidecar for my Mac Pro Tower
