Hi Smeni06,

We are having the same issue here. I'm supporting 850 +\- iPhones and only two of them are having this issue and sadly, both of the users are VIP where I work.

Both users work emails are not syncing, sometimes for days. When they open the Mail app, it tries to connect to server but gives message: Cannot Get Mail: The connection to the server failed.

I would be curious of the help we could receive because frankly nothing has worked yet.

One iPhone XR and one iPhone 13

Troubleshooting:

  • Close / open app
  • Reboot iPhone
  • Disconnect from Wi-Fi
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi
  • Re-entering the account information
  • Reset device
  • Finally doing a Factory reset

On one of the device after doing all that we updated to the new 16.1.2 and it is still giving us the same error.

We have also checked the mail account setting on the server, checked the connection from the iPhone to the server and all is ok. The only thing is the email gives that error and it started only after the update to iOS 16.1.1.

Have a great day
