Cant get weather to work on apple watch

Before the latest Watch update I could use the weather network app for weather display in my watch, after the update it was no longer available on the modular watch face. I downloaded the weather channel to resolve this issue.

now that I have the new app when setting up my watch face it just says location services unavailable ( see screen shot)

I have confirmed location services is on for the weather channel app, and for the watch when in use.

it still says no location, the weather channel app itself works fine on my phone and shows correct location
