Enable App Notifications on Silent Mode

Hi,

I vehemently do not like having my phone in anything but silent mode. Sounds give me anxiety.

However, I need to get audible notifications from a company I contract with for time sensitive job offers.

Is there any way to allow specific apps to do this?

The focus mode doesn’t work for me, because I still need the other notifications to pop up visibly.

Question about focus mode New to ios I set up a (sleep) focus mode. I don’t want system sounds in sleep mode and I only want alerts from my allowed apps My issue is, the allowed apps only vibrate when it’s on silent mode I need my allowed apps (one of which is my cars after market alarm) to be able to make noise and actually wake me up. So it appears my only option is to leave silent mode off for this focus mode, or else the notifications will only vibrate, even for apps I designated to allow notifications on. Am I wrong, or is there a way around this? Thanks

Do Not Disturb apps appear under both Silence Notifications From and Allow Notifications From or neither iPhone 14 Pro, running iOS 16.3.1 Under Focus > Do Not Disturb, if an app is added to either Silence Notifications From or Allow Notifications From, it appears under both. And, if an app is removed from one, it disappears from the other. Assuming I'm not completely misunderstanding how this feature works (there could be more documentation on it) and assuming it's not a bug... What is the logic behind setting an app to have notifications both silenced from it as well as allowed from it at the same time? And, how do you silence notifications from an app while Do Not Disturb is active if adding it under Silence Notifications From also adds it to Allow Notifications From? Likewise, how do you allow notifications from an app while Do Not Disturb is active if adding it under Allow Notifications From also adds it to Silence Notifications From?

Ahoy there -Artemis-,

You can control the notifications for each app independently in Settings > Notifications > [app name]. From there you can turn off sounds for each app, allow notifications on the Lock Screen - or not and more. Here’s an article with more information, including some screenshots. Use notifications on your iPhone or iPad

If you disable sound for the apps you don’t want to produce an audible notification you can then leave the sound on for your device, but only get audible notifications from the apps with sounds enabled.
