In order to change the font of the time on the Lock Screen, follow these steps from Personalize your iPhone Lock Screen:

Edit a Lock Screen

After you create a custom Lock Screen, you can make changes to it.

1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customize button appears at the bottom of the screen.

2. Swipe to the Lock Screen you want to edit, then tap .

3. Do any of the following:

• Change the style of the time: Tap Customize, tap the time, then select a font, color, and shade by tapping .

You cannot change the size of the time numbers, but changing the font may make them a little less obtrusive. Also you might want to make a suggestion using this link so that hopefully there will be a way to change the size in some future update.
