Finding Fit Beats when case is closed

Can you use Find My to find your Fit Beat Pros if the charging case is closed, or are you only provided with last place buds connected? (With Beats buds inside). Can you use Find My to find the case if no buds inside?

Seems like you should be able to find buds when in case but I am just told “sound pending” until connected to a network.

I couldn’t find a Beats Subtopic subject… hence inclusion in Iphone Air Pods topic.

Thank you.

Greetings kbmack22,

Since the sound is played through the earbuds themselves, and not the charging case, the case must be open, or the earbuds out of the case to play that sound for help locating your Beats. You can learn more here:

Find My - Keep track of your Beats

"Locate your Beats using an iCloud account:

  1. Go to iCloud.com/find in your browser
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Choose All Devices, then select the headphones you want to locate

Find My App, Keep track of your Beats

If they are online, the location of your Beats will show on the map and you can choose Play Sound2 to find them nearby. A confirmation email is also sent to your Apple ID email address. If your Beats are offline, you see Sound Pending until they connect to a network. Once connected, a sound plays and a notification is sent to you.

Still having trouble locating your Beats? For more information on Find My and how it works, visit Apple Support."

Take care.

Only the AirPods Pro 2 (APP2) has the case speaker.

Also the APP2 has the H1 chip - versus the W1 chip - in both the headphones and the case, which maintains a "persistent" connection with your phone, can more accurately identify "notify when left behind", and find the case/buds when you lose one or the other.

(Breaking away from boilerplate responses, since you probably know how to find them, you're looking for how the sound is played)
