iPhone 14 doesn't seem to auto focus close up photos

I have this problem with my brand new out of the box iPhone 14. It does not matter the lighting, it doesn't seem to auto focus close up photos. I have installed all the updates and it happens just with the camera app no third party app required to recreate this issue.
