Using Apple Watch to Track Steps/Mileage

Is there a way to track steps/mileage on an Apple Watch without subscribing to the Fitness app? Thanks in advance!

Hi there HarleyDon,

If you would like to see specific activity data on your Apple Watch, this information from Track daily activity with Apple Watch shows how to do this:

Check your progress
Open the Activity app  on your Apple Watch at any time to see how you’re doing. The Activity app displays three rings.

Turn the Digital Crown to see your current totals—keep scrolling to see your progress as a graph, your total steps, total distance, workouts, and flights climbed.

This has more about finding specific data in the the Activity app as well: Use the Activity app on your Apple Watch

Take care!

Hi HarleyDon,

There is no subscription needed for the Activity app or the Fitness app. There is however a subscription needed for Apple Fitness +, and that information is listed here:How to get Apple Fitness+ - Apple Support.

Outside of Apple Fitness + or any other third-party workout/exercise apps that require a subscription, you can still use the Activity app to record steps and workouts. That information is in the resources in the reply above.
