Deleting folders from external device

It sounds like you aren't able to properly remove folders from external storage devices on your computer since upgrading to Ventura, right? If you haven't already, try to reset the NVRAM on your computer with the steps listed here:

How to reset NVRAM

1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Turn on your Mac, then immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, R.
3. Release the keys after about 20 seconds, during which your Mac might appear to restart. For example, you might hear a startup sound more than once, or see the Apple logo more than once.
4. When your Mac finishes starting up, you might need to adjust any system settings that were reset."

If you continue to see the behavior after, contact Apple Support.

As previously mentioned, if you don't see an improvement after resetting the PRAM/NVRAM, then it would be best to contact Apple directly: Apple Support

They'll need to take it from here.

Were these used for Time Machine backups by chance? If they were you cannot manually delete folders from those as they will stay in the trash or come back each time the drive is used. You would need to remove the drives and erase and format again to clear out the trash.

If you move a folder to the trash and then remove the SD card what happens?
