update

i am trying to use an old iphone which i have had switched off and factory reset for a while now. when i go to turn the iphone on it says unable to activate (an update is required to activiate your iphone). i have plugged into pc to try update through itunes and it now says i need to have a sim card inserted into the iphone which i dont have?

Yes you need to have a sim card.

Vsit a carrier and purchase a Prepaid or Post prepaid card, or take out a subscription.
