when browsing safari on the most recent page and only the back button is bold
the two fingers swipe back doesn't work. I have to press the back button to go back.

Thanks for reaching out to the community. Try checking your settings to determine if the two-finger gesture is set for Safari. The steps below provided, shows how to check the settings.
1."System Preferences > Trackpad > More Gestures tab > Check "Swipe between pages".
2.Make sure that it says left or right with two fingers.
3. If it says 3 fingers then click the arrow next to it and set it back to 2 fingers".
