Back tap not working since 16.1.1 update

I didn't upgrade to 16.1 from iOS 15 but just did 16.2 on my iPhone 8 and Back Tap no longer works! Tried all the suggestions, removed the case etc. Zilch. Rather than waste my time trying to solve it I shall just go back to the old method, i.e. no back tap.

I've also had this happen. I installed the update today and backtaps no longer work. I have followed the article recommended but no improvement

Same here. I've been using back tap successfully until the latest update which killed it.
