Videos not playing on M1 MacBook Pro 14

Run into an issue where videos, whether they are on safari or chrome or even ones downloaded on my laptop, will just not play. The videos will pop up but on YouTube they just won't load, almost like they're in a constant state of buffering. Downloaded videos just refuse to play, clicking the play button quick flashes the pause button and then back to the play button. Not sure what setting I must have messed up or if this some type of hardware issue. I have the latest version and a tried to bout it in safe mode but nothing solved the problem. and one day I reopened my laptop from sleep and all was all good. and now the problem is back. Any help would be gladly appreciated. Thanks

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

Let's boot into safe mode and test to see if you can replicate the issue:

"Start up your Mac with Apple silicon in safe mode

On your Mac, choose Apple menu > Shut Down.
Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.
Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.
Select a volume.
Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.
The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar."

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? When did you first notice this? Which macOS version do you currently have? Also, does this happen on other user accounts as well?
